On May 8th 2015 representatives from Energy Renewables Asia and Buskowitz Development, Inc. came to the Juan Brewery to officially hand over our new 45.9kw Solar PV System.
Juan Brew was founded with the goal to brew quality Filipino Craft Beer sustainably and with minimal effect on the environment. Breweries are usually powered by LPG or Diesel boilers, which although cheaper than an electric system (in the Philippines) consume fossil fuels and contribute to the production of green house gases. By choosing to go with an electric system we are not only able to have a cleaner and quieter working environment, but also have our equipment 100% powered by renewable energy. That dream has now become a reality. Below is a photo of our panel board for the electric brew house running on Solar Energy:
Construction of the panels was started and completed within two weeks; much faster than any of us at Juan Brew thought would be the case. We found that the team worked very efficiently and with sufficient attention to detail ensuring that we also do not have any leaks on our roof.
After wiring up the panels, it was time to install the eight inverters. We had to be a little creative with the placements because of an unused door on the same wall as our panel board.
After everything was completed, all that was left to do was to switch on the system and complete an official hand over.

Being the first brewery in the Philippines to run 100% on Solar Power, “blessing” the panels with a healthy spray of Philippine Craft Beer was a must. Whether it had a symbolic reason or we just wanted to spray beer everywhere, we found it was absolutely necessary! Perhaps the panels are now reminded of what they were born to do!
What an incredible day. Smiles all round!

And of course, a mug of Philippine Craft Beer to celebrate!
We hope that more breweries in the sunny Philippines adopt our same approach and take a greener approach to manufacturing. For more information about using Solar PV Panels in the brewing process or for inquiring to purchase a Solar PV system, kindly email email@example.com
Cheers and Happy Brewing!
